Balvenie Doublewood 12 year old.
It,s been matured in two wood types.
1st traditional oak whisky cask then to European oak sherry cask.
Each stage lends to different qualities to the resulting single malt. Traditional cask softens & adds character , whilst the sherry wood brings depth & fullness of flavour.
Nose… Sweet fruit & Oloroso sherry notes,layered with honey & vanilla.
Taste… Smooth & mellow with beautifully combined flavours nutty sweetness , cinnamon spiciness & a delicately proportioned layer of sherry.
Finish… Long & warming.
Balvenie single barrel 15 yr old.
Drawn from traditional oak whisky cask of a single distillation.
Balvenie malt master selects only those casks which have the essential characteristics of the Balvenie single barrel.
Each bottling forms a limited edition of no more than 350 hand numbered bottles. So each bottle is unique & unrepeatable.
Nose… Fragrant aroma of vanilla, honeyed sweetness, hints of heather & dry oaky notes.
Taste… Rich & complex, suggestive of years of careful ageing it has honeyed maltiness with vanilla, Oak flavours & delicate spice notes.
Finish… Long & complex with a hint of liquorice.

Balvenie’s most awarded whisky.
To create Balvenie portwood a marriage of rare Balvenie is transferred to port casks, or pipes which have held fine port wines.
Here it is sampled to ensure that the right amount of character is imparted by the port casks enhancing & developing the single malt whilst preserving it’s original characteristics.
Nose… A perfume of fruity & ripe raisin notes, backed by a nutty dryness.
Taste… Refined with remarkable character, it is creamy & silky with fruit, honey & spice notes.
Finish… Long gentle nutty.
