Description

700ml // 43.3% ABV

Fettercairn distillery has been in operation since 1824, making it one of Scotland’s oldest malt whisky distilleries. The Distillery is snugly tucked away at the foot of the Cairngorm mountains from which it takes spring water supplies. This area is one of Scotland’s most fertile regions, and is why Fettercairn is hidden amongst its forests and glens. These distinct characteristics combine to produce a balanced malt whisky with a fine character.

The amazing 30 Year Old Fettercairn from their redesigned range. It was distilled in 1978 and has a lot of thick Oloroso sherry notes coming through. Just delicious stuff, and it looks great too!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Beeswax and dried herbs, some toffee apple, and a hint of fresh peppermint leaf. Cedar, cigar leaves and butterscotch.

Palate: Pine resin, beeswax and thick barley malt. Spiciness from cinnamon, toasty oak and a touch of something rubbery.

Finish: Good length with more of those pine-y, resinous notes, potpourri and honey.
