A handsome ceramic decanter of Dew of Ben Nevis Special Reserve Blended Scotch Whisky, complete with presentation box. This traditionally-shaped flagon wouldn’t look out of place in a farmhouse, a jug band or Dickinson’s Real Deal. The whisky itself wouldn’t look out of place in a tasting glass, that’s for sure. This blend does not carry an age statement on the label but I can tell you that some of the malts used in this product are over 5 years old. Jim Murray’s “Whisky Bible 2004” describes it thus ‘very firm malt, sweet, full-bodied and punchy grain, even a hint of honey on the spicy finale’.
Nose: Fragrant, quite rich. Malt and hints of smoke, a touch of peat with honey and spice.
Palate: Balanced, toffee with oak, peat. Gentle fudge note.
Finish: Good length with toffee and oak.
