Description
In 1815, the Ardbeg distillery was founded by John McDougall on the Isle of Islay. In 2015, Ardbeg Perpetuum was released during Fèis Ìle 2015 in celebration of their 200th anniversary. Dr. Bill Lumsden has created a full-bodied Islay single malt, rich in coastal peat, smoked meat and well-rounded vanilla notes, using a blend of whiskies both young and old, matured in both bourbon and Sherry casks. Here’s to the first 200 years – and to the next 200 years too!
Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep Amber
Nose: Tar, soot and pine resin leads to dark chocolate, treacle toffee, and a distant, nutty/oaky note. Water initiates fresh, briny sea-spray, linseed oil, and a pine resin/lime top note. Remarkably fresh for such a peaty whisky.
Taste: Intense, robust peat smoke, savoury smoky bacon, cinnamon.

It has a lot of older Ardbeg in there. Fantastic Ardbeg day whisky, must try for the Ardbeg fans!
