Description
A high-strength addition to the Tamdhu range. Tamdhu Batch Strength was introduced in early 2015, boasting a richly Sherried flavour profile owing to the maturation taking place exclusively in American and European oak Sherry casks. It’s presented at a generous 58.8% ABV and bottled without chill-filtration or additional colours. A superb Speysider with an intense, sweetly-spiced character.
Really enjoyed this and one for fans of Glenfarclas 105 & Aberlour Abunadh. A sweet sherry & savoury treat bursting with meaty malt, caramelised nuts, buttery malt loaf, sherry soaked red berries, old fashioned ginger cake & blood orange marmalade on brown toast. Some great peppery polished nutty oak to boot and a dry savoury finish.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Wafts of dark chocolate and Sherry-soaked raisins, with a touch of crushed walnut. Fragrant oak-y spices develop.
Palate: Red berry sweetness as the palate opens, soon developing cracked black pepper and cinnamon spiciness. Waxy orange peels, vanilla pod and demerara sugar in the background.
Finish: Toast with a thin layer of marmalade and more red berries.
Note: No box with this bottle.
