A classic Island dram from the Isle of Skye. Always highly rated, this was an Editor’s Choice at Whisky Magazine. Lots of spice and fresh, tangy peat. For a time this was my personal favourite single malt and I still consider it one of the best all-round whiskeys I’ve tried so far. It has spice, fruit, peat and smoke and a whole lot more. I can’t recommend it highly enough especially in this price range. The Isle of Skye may only have one single malt distillery but boy is it a truly great one!
Nose: Thick, pungent smoke. Notes of kippers, seaweed, apple peels. Fresh and fragrant.
Palate: Full bodied with huge plumes of smoke and volcanic, peppery peat. Intense.
Finish: Long finish, barley, malt.
