Description
75cl // 43.4% ABV
Suntory Royal looks & tastes as if it’s a blend of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and Mizunara casks.
I found the Suntory Royal more malty (and weirder, of course) than Hibiki 12, but that’s just from memory. I may do a more official comparison in the near future.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Medium gold with a reddish tint.
Nose: Juicy marmalade, with orange peel and tropical fruit, honey.
Palate: Smoky paper citrus tart, stewed fruits. It gets very sweet over time. Small sherry cask & subtle oak . Luckily, it remains in the background.
Finish: Flavoursome crisp apples with that citrus finish.
Early classic Japanese Whisky.
