Whisky of the Week: ISLE OF JURA EXPERIMENTAL

ISLE OF JURA EXPERIMENTAL
Cask #1124
70cl / 58.8%

Great to find these different Whiskies for you to select, We are increasing our selection of rare whiskies.

A little-known experimental vatting of Isle of Jura from 2003 that was a young, heavily-peated cask from 1999 married for a year with a much older cask from the 1970s. The long marrying time allowed these two very contrasting styles to fully integrate with each other and the result is fantastic, with the raw strength of the peat mellowed by the wood influence of the older cask.

Nose: Has a freshness with notes of damp hay and soft, malty cereal notes. A touch of peat with gentle oak and arak with blossom tones.

Palate: Thick and full with more cereal, this time a barley fudge sweetness creeps in with creamy smoothness and a touch of aniseed.

Finish: Long with peppy winter spice.
